Bobocha's commitment

As responsible business owners we believe in supporting the local community and caring for the environment on Siladen Island. Our mission at Bobocha is to have less reliance on fossil fuels and move to solar power as it becomes available but in the meantime, we use energy more efficiently, recycle more products and waste, use natural building materials and most importantly... educate everyone we can about how and why we need a sustainable future and the overwhelming importance of our precious environment!

Our projects

We have engaged and supported the local villagers by leading a program to keep Siladen clean of rubbish and waste and part of the money we receive from guest’s goes towards the supply of waste packaging and transportation to the mainland. In Manado, the waste is sorted for recycling and treatment.

We also run English language classes for the children on the Island which is in addition to their local school education. As part of the class we teach about the importance of the environment and how we should care for it, ensuring an understanding for the future.
