Bunaken National Marine Park

Bunaken National Marine Park is almost completely covered by sparkling clear and warm tropical water. Only 3% of the park is landmass, including the five islands Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain and Siladen. Although each of these islands have an individual character, it is the eco system that attracts most naturalists.

The waters of Bunaken National Marine Park are extremely deep and harbor some of the highest levels of marine biodiversity in the world. Although the exact number of fish species is unknown, it may be more than 2,500 species, or nearly 70% of all fish species known to the Indo-western Pacific.

Our retreat is located on the small island of Siladen, situated within the Bunaken National Marine Park in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Siladen has a population of 300 people and is only 1,1 km long and 0,6 km wide. Completely surrounded by a coral reef, Siladen is a heavenly place to dive, snorkel, swim, explore and watch the world go by.
